Imagine a cotton field; like a sea of white soft and airy balls that almost look like clouds. Humans have grown and used cotton to build our civilization for more than 3000 years because of its soft yet durable fibers. Therefore, it is only natural that cotton is our preferred choice of material, as good quality is at the core of our brand. We use it, among other things, in our popular signature jeans, which are always of high quality and fashionable.

Cotton has been crucial to human civilization for a long time - and the same can be said about dogs! The dog was the first animal that man kept as a pet. The oldest confirmed case of a dog as a domestic animal is actually more than 14,200 years old. Our relationship with dogs therefore goes back even further in time than the use of cotton, but both have brought us to where we are today.

Let us return once more to the cotton field we imagined before; if you look a little closer, you might now spot a pair of ears sticking out from behind the cotton plants. You might even hear the cheerful bark just before the dog runs towards you. The dog sits down and looks up at you curiously with its head tilted.

This is HOUND - and we are never ordinary.

Much of our clothing is produced in Turkey rather than the Far East, and why is this important? This is because Turkey is Europe's closest neighbour, and they ensure that they live up to current standards. When the production is located so close, we can also use trucks as a means of transport. The short distance and the trucks as means of transport mean that our CO2 emissions are significantly lower.

All our suppliers sign a comprehensive contract which defines and prohibits the use of child labor in all parts of production. We regularly carry out agreed and unannounced quality checks to ensure that these standards are adhered to at all times. We also collaborate with the Danish organization Børns Vilkår.

At HOUNd, we constantly try to work towards a more sustainable production. We want to be part of the positive change that ensures a bright and green future for the textile industry and our global society. Therefore, we are on a constant mission to increase the number of GOTS certified suppliers, as part of our distribution chain, with the ultimate goal of making sustainable clothes for cool tweens.

When you receive your order, you can be sure that all boxes are made from recycled cardboard. We use more than 100,000 cardboard boxes per year, and therefore the choice of material is important. We are also currently working on developing a more sustainable alternative to the plastic bags we use to protect the clothes.
